Commonly referred to as “Larch-Lap”, “Waney-Lap” or simply “Lap” panels, Overlap panels are one of the best-selling styles of fencing in the UK.
Bendrey Bros stock two ranges of Overlap panel, the Standard Overlap and the Premium Overlap panel. Manufactured in the UK, both ranges are pressure treated for durability, have vertical battens on each side of the overlapped horizontal slats and are finished with a top capping strip.
Standard Overlap Panels
The Standard Overlap is our economy fence panel. The framework on the front of the panel consists of three 16 x 38mm vertical battens between 18 x 50mm horizontal battens at the top and bottom. The back of the panel is reinforced with five 16 x 38mm vertical battens.
Constructed using waney edged slats (sometimes known as “wavey” or “live” edge), the Standard Overlap has a traditional appearance and is available in three heights from 4’ (1219mm) to 6’ (1829mm) high, all height options are 6’ (1829mm) wide.
Premium Overlap Panels
These quality fence panels are framed with horizontal battens at the top and bottom and five vertical battens on each side. As the layout of the 18 x 38mm framework is the same on both sides, these sturdy panels are perfect for shared boundaries.
Square edged slats give the Premium Overlap fence panels an attractive, uniform appearance.
Our Premium Overlap panels are available in four heights from 3’ (914mm) to 6’ (1829mm) high, all height options are 6’ (1829mm) wide.
Conclusion
The Standard Overlap is competitively priced, the quality is good when compared with Overlap Panels that are stocked by other merchants, many of which are dip-treated rather than pressure treated. If our Premium Overlap doesn’t fit your budget then our Standard Overlap is a great alternative.
Our Premium Overlap is just that, premium. You’ll struggle to find a better overlap panel. Not only is there more framework on the Premium Overlap, but the framework is also thicker which makes the panel noticeably more solid than the Standard Overlap panel. When installed using 100 x 100mm wooden posts or concrete posts and gravel boards, this robust, attractive fence will last many years.
