Cross-cutting is where you cut across the grain of the timber to reduce the length.
We offer a cross-cutting service on our new Oak & treated softwood sleepers. All cross-cutting is to a tolerance of ±2mm. We are only able to offer 90° cuts.
Please note: Due to the size of our saw, you will lose 4mm per cut – if you were to cut three 600mm lengths from a 2.4m sleeper, the remaining offcut would be approx. 588mm long. Please keep this in mind when calculating your requirements.
We are only able to machine our own timber before it has left our yard. If you require a lot of machining, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
We are unable to accept returns on products that have been cut.
