The 3658mm (12') Somerfield gate is a great value, traditional style of 5 bar wooden gate. It has a strong morticed and tenoned construction, a tapered top rail which is stronger and heavier at the hanging end, tapering down to a lighter swinging end. It is made with joinery grade treated softwood and has a planed finish. The Somerfield gate is equally at home in a field, a garden, or at the end of a driveway as a single gate or as part of a pair.

It is recommended that Somerfield gates are fitted with: • 1x adjustable hinge set (per gate) • 1x drop bolt (per gate) • 1x gate catch (per gate) OR 1x throw over gate loop (per pair of gates)

A Throw Over Gate Loop with lifting handle is used to secure a pair of wooden five bar gates in the middle when in the closed position. The galvanised gate loop is fitted to the top rail of the closing gate with the included carriage bolt. For best results; drop bolts should also be fitted to secure the bottom of both gates (sold separately).

Hot dip galvanised to ensure resistance to corrosion & rust, these hook & band hinges for suitable for hanging heavy duty gates & doors. As a general rule we recommend using hinges that cover half the width of the gate/door.
